CHICAGO – DePaul University Executive Associate Athletics Director Taylor Stapleton has been named chair of the NCAA Division I Men's Tennis Committee, effective for the 2025-26 academic year. Stapleton, who joined the national committee in September 2024, will now lead the group responsible for guiding the championship selection process and advancing the sport at the highest collegiate level.
"I'm incredibly grateful and honored to serve as chair of the NCAA Division I Men's Tennis Committee," said Stapleton. "This is a tremendous opportunity to further advocate for our student-athletes and help shape the future of the sport. I'm excited to continue collaborating with colleagues across the country who share a deep commitment to the advancement of college tennis."
The twelve-person committee is tasked with developing policies and procedures governing the NCAA Division I Men's and Women's Tennis Championships, including selecting and supporting host sites, establishing brackets, and evaluating teams for postseason competition. As chair of the Men's Committee, Stapleton will play a key leadership role in ensuring the continued growth and integrity of collegiate men's tennis as well as the administration of the NCAA Tennis Championships.
"I couldn't be prouder of Taylor Stapleton for being named chair of the NCAA Division I Men's Tennis Committee," said Vice President and Director of Athletics DeWayne Peevy. "Taylor brings a thoughtful, student-centered approach to everything he does, and this recognition speaks volumes about the respect he's earned across college athletics. He's a tremendous representative of DePaul and someone I am grateful to have on our team."
Stapleton's elevation to chair reflects his dedication to the sport and the leadership he has shown at DePaul, in the BIG EAST, and nationally. Since 2020, he has served as the sport administrator for DePaul's men's tennis program and assumed the same role for the women's program in 2022. His tenure has been marked by strategic growth and investment, including the launch of a groundbreaking partnership with Wilson and Luxilon in 2024—Wilson's first-ever collegiate tennis team sponsorship.
"Tennis at DePaul continues to thrive thanks to Taylor's vision and advocacy," said head men's tennis coach Matt Brothers. "I'm thrilled to see him step into this national leadership role where even more student-athletes and programs will benefit from his commitment to our sport."
Under Stapleton's leadership, DePaul's tennis programs have achieved success both on and off the court, earning multiple BIG EAST titles, NCAA Tournament appearances, and top academic honors across the conference.
