Known as “Hass” to her teammates and coaches, Beth Hasenmiller Sauser played for the Women’s Blue Demon Basketball Team from 1987 to 1991. She assisted in securing the 1989 and 1991 North Start Conference Tournament titles, ultimately leading the Blue Demons to the NCAA Tournament for the first two times in program history (1990; 1991). During the 1991 North Star Conference title game against Valparaiso, Sauser scored a record 42 points and earned DePaul’s first automatic NCAA Tournament berth. Additionally, Sauser helped DePaul win the inaugural North Star Tournament title in 1989.
Three-time team captain, Sauser was named the North Star Player of the Year and Conference Tournament MVP during the 1990-91 season. She also earned All-North Star Conference first-team honors in 1989-90 and 1990-91. At the time of her induction into the Hall of Fame, Sauser ranked second in school history with 127 career games played, second with a .587 career field goal percentage, sixth with 756 career rebounds and eighth with 1600 career points.
