Edward “Ed” Campion (1915–2005) was a guard for DePaul University from 1933 to 1937. In his senior year, he earned First-team All-American recognition and was named team MVP while being selected to the prestigious All-Garden team in New York. His collegiate excellence also earned him a place as one of DePaul’s inaugural Hall of Fame inductees in 1980.
After his time at DePaul, Campion played professionally in the National Basketball League with the Whiting and Hammond Ciesar All-Americans, accumulating 137 points over 38 games (an average of 3.6 ppg). Beyond basketball he served in the Navy during World War II and later led a long career in the produce and packing business. He remained a respected figure in the DePaul community and Illinois basketball circles.
