Edward Mikan

Edward Mikan played for DePaul men's basketball from 1944-48. Legendary coach Ray Meyer described him as “the second best center we ever had at DePaul”, the first, his brother George.Â
Mikan helped the Blue Demons to the 1945 NIT Championship over Bowling Green State. He was drafted fifth overall in the 1948 BAA Draft by the Chicago Stags. He played eight seasons in the BAA/NBA for the Stags, Rochester Royals, Washington Capitols, Philadelphia Warriors, Indianapolis Olympians and Boston Celtics. Throughout his career he totaled 2,163 points and 1,093 rebounds.Â
