Evelyn Johnson Duff

Evelyn Johnson-Duff was a member of the women’s volleyball (1976-1979) and softball teams (1977-1980) at DePaul University. Johnson-Duff was one of the first female student-athletes to receive a full scholarship (tuition-only). She also encouraged administration to reinstate the DePaul fight song after finding a copy in the archives.
Johnson-Duff revitalized one of the first Blue Demon mascot costumes and helped establish the track club team which eventually became a Division I sport at DePaul. Johnson-Duff continued her involvement with Athletics, serving on various committees, and was instrumental in helping the Athletic department evaluate television opportunities.
