DePaul University Athletics
Hall of Fame & Jersey Retirements

- Induction:
- 2007
Gerry Paetsch was a member of DePaul’s administrative staff for about 34 years. As a member of the College of LA&S Senior Advising Staff, Paetsch guided countless student-athletes as they registered for classes, sought advice on their choice of college majors and received career counseling. Paetsch was said to be a constant advocate for student-athletes and the Department of Academic Athletic Advising primary “go-to-guy” for all LA&S issues.
After Paetsch’s passing, a former LA&S office colleague said, “Gerry provided countless students with attention and care that exemplified the Vincentian personalism- the 'old DePaul' at its very best. Students at risk, or on probation - 'Gerry's kids' as we called them would always find that Gerry was a person who would help them."
At the 2007 Hall of Fame induction, Paetsch received the Dr. Robert Hamilton Special Service Award.
