Howie Carl played for DePaul from 1959-61 where he graduated as the school's career scoring leader with 1,461 points. His scoring remains 15th all-time while his scoring average of 20.0 points per game is second in program history behind only Mark Aguirre. Carl held the program free throw percentage record for over 40 years before it was broken in 2005 by Drake Diener, however, Carl's career percentage of 85.3 remains the second-best in school history.Â
Cark was drafted in the fifth round of the 1961 NBA Draft by the Chicago Packers where he would play 31 games during the 1961-62 season.Â
