Joe Pecoraro swam for DePaul University from 1950 to 1952, earning a place in the DePaul Athletics Hall of Fame in 1983. Known for his dedication to water safety, Pecoraro played a major role in standardizing open-water lifesaving procedures at a national level. His enduring legacy includes not only his athletic achievements, but also his lifelong commitment to protecting and training others in aquatic environments.
