Joe Ponsetto

Joe Ponsetto played for DePaul from 1974-78 where he was a part of the most legendary Blue Demons teams, reaching the NCAA Quarterfinals in the 1978 Tournament. Ponsetto appeared in 97 career games across his four seasons, tallying 1,256 career points.
Ponsetto had a standout sophomore season where he averaged a career-best 19.2 points across 29 games that helped the Blue Demons to the 1976 NCAA Tournament Round of 16. His 19.2 points per game remain as the second-highest among sophomores in program history. He led the Blue Demons with a team-high 52.1 field goal percentage in the 1975-76 season and had a team-best 119 assists in 1977-78.
Ponsetto was drafted in the ninth round of the 1978 NBA Draft by the Chicago Bulls. He was inducted into the Basketball Museum of Illinois Hall of Fame in 1981.
