Major General Stephen Crane

After serving in the Quartermaster Corps of the United States Army, Major General Stephen Crane participated in Blue Demon Men’s Track and Field from 1947 to 1950. Crane routinely placed first in the discus and shot put events, setting a school record with a shot put throw of 47’9.75” and, with a throw of 136’ placed a record in the discus. In his last competition at the Central Collegiate Conference Championship, Crane placed second in the discus and fourth in shot put.
Crane was a two-time team captain and named the “Most Valuable Trackman” by The DePaulia.
