Mary Hie

Mary Hie first began working at DePaul in Sept. 1979 which launched a 25-year career for the administrative assistant. During her tenure at DePaul, Hie's oldest daughter, Patty, played for the Blue Demons women's basketball team and her youngest daughter, Katie, was a cheerleader at DePaul. Patti was inducted into the DePaul Hall of Fame in 1996.Â
Hie received the Hamilton Special Service Award in 2010 after providing invaluable assistance and aid to athletic directors, staff, student-athletes, parents, alumni and fans of DePaul on a daily basis throughout her tenure. Hie handled evey phone call into Alumni Hall, except for those that went directly to men's basketball. Hie retired in June 2004.Â
