John “Paddy” Driscoll was one of the most celebrated athletes in DePaul University history, playing for the Blue Demons football team from 1927 to 1931. Known for his versatility, intelligence, and athleticism, Driscoll excelled in multiple positions and was a standout performer throughout his collegiate career, helping DePaul compete at the highest levels of the era.
After graduating, Driscoll had an illustrious professional career in the National Football League, playing for the Chicago Cardinals and the Milwaukee Badgers. He was renowned for his kicking, passing, and all-around football skills, earning All-Pro honors multiple times. Driscoll later became a coach and innovator in the sport, leaving a lasting mark on the game at both the collegiate and professional levels.
In recognition of his contributions to football, Driscoll was inducted into both the College Football Hall of Fame and the Pro Football Hall of Fame. He was also honored by DePaul University with induction into the Athletics Hall of Fame in 1976, celebrating his exceptional impact on the Blue Demons program and his enduring legacy in football history.
