Sammy Mejia played for DePaul from 2003-07 where he was an integral part in the Blue Demons 2004 NCAA Tournament team. He currently ranks 13th all-time at DePaul with 1,494 career points and was the second player in program history to eclipse 1,000 points, 500 rebounds, 300 assists, 100 steals and 100 three-pointers. He also ranks ninth all-time with 396 career assists. Mejia led the Blue Demons in 2006 with 14.9 points per game after shooting 48.4 percent. He was a 2007 All-BIG EAST selection. Â
Mejia went on to be a second round NBA Draft pick in 2007 before playing professionally abroad for over a decade.
