Stephen Howard played for DePaul from 1988-82, helping lead the Blue Demons to three NCAA Tournaments and an NIT berth. Howard's career total of 1,691 points remains the eight-most all-time in program history. He graduated as the program's all-time leader with 528 career free throws, a mark he held until Billy Garrett Jr. broke it in 2017. Howard also remains among teh top-10 in career rebounds (883) and field goals made (571).Â
Howard's single-season free throw total of 164 ranks fourth all-time, doing so in both 1989-90 and 1991-92. Howard was awarded the 1990 NIT All-Star before being named All-Conference and All-Tournament as a senior in 1992 by the Great Midwest Conference.Â
An undrafted member of the 1992 draft class, Howard went on to a 16-year professional career including five seasons in the NBA.Â
Since the conclusion of his playing career, Howard has served as a television analyst for ESPN and Fox Sports in addition to a keynote speaker and leadership coach.Â
