Birchall Earns All-C-USA Honors At Conference Meet

ST. LOUIS, MO -- Chris Birchall, who earned All-Conference USA honors, and Eric Giandelone each finished in the top 15 to pace the DePaul men's cross country team at the league championships on Saturday, October 28.

The Blue Demons as team placed fifth overall, the highest finish ever for the program.

"I am very proud of the team. They really put everything together," second-year DePaul head coach Gordon Thomson said. "I am very happy with the direction the program is heading and this weekend was a great indication of the improvement we are making."

Birchall, a freshman from Leeds, England, took eighth overall in 25:12.90 while Giandelone, a senior from New Orleans, La. was 15th in 25:41.08.

Larry Vonckx was 25th overall in 26:03.52 while Luis Samayoa was 27th in 26:05.17.
