Blue Demons Ready For Fall

The women's soccer team will be the first sport to open at home in 2000. Head coach Laure Schingen's squad is coming off a record-setting season and will open the 2000 home schedule by entertaining Eastern Illinois on September 1 at Wish Field. The match begins at 2:00 p.m. The Blue Demons will have seven home matches including Family Day on September 17 against Louisville and Senior Day against Houston on October 15.
The men's soccer team will unveil it's national top 10 recruiting class for the first time at Wish Field on September 3 when Eastern Illinois comes to Wish Field for a 2:00 p.m. match. Head coach Tom Secco's squad will play six times at home including matches against local rivals Northwestern (September 20) and Loyola-Chicago (October 2). Conference USA foes Cincinnati (October 7) and Marquette (November 1) highlight the home portion of the league schedule.
Head coach Dawn Dockstader's volleyball team will open the school's new Athletic Center on September 15 and 16 when DePaul hosts the Blue Demon Invitational. DePaul will play nine other matches at home during the 2000 season including visits by national-powers Louisville (September 28) and Houston (October 15). Hopes are high as DePaul welcomes back five starters off a team that won 20 matches and reached the semifinals of the Conference USA Tournament last season.
Year two of the Gordon Thomson era kicks off with the 2000 men's and women's cross country season. The Blue Demons will run twice in the Chicagoland area. On September 2 DePaul will compete at the UIC Invitational in Palos Hills, Ill. and on September 30 the Blue Demons will run at the Sean Earl Loyola Lakefront Invitational.
