Samayoa Leads Men's Cross Country Squad At Bell Invite

BLOOMINGTON, IN - Luis Samayoa was the top finisher for the DePaul men's cross country squad at the annual Sam Bell Invitational on Friday< september="" 1="" at="" the="" indiana="" cross="" country="">
There were no team scores kept in the meet.
Samayoa, a junior from Chicago, ran the 7K race in 24:56.49 and finished 36th overall.
DePaul's Brian McCabe, who was 37th in 24:56.84, was in second for the Blue Demons' and was immediately followed by Larry Vonckx (24:57.37), Kim Trieu (24:57.61) and Eric Giandelone (24:57.99).
DePaul's Darshan Patel took 48th in 26:04.49 and Rick Britton was 50th in 26:16.73. Chris Chiakulas was 54th in 27:53.13, Kai Murray took 58th in 29:22.65 while Mark Jourdan placed 60th in 29:48.36.
The Blue Demons will run again on Saturday when they travel to West Lafayette, Ind. for Purdue's Mike Poehlein Invitational.
