DePaul won the five school invitational on the strength of six first place finishes and depth in the other events. Three times the team had multiple athletes score in an event. They tallied their best output in the 55 meters where DePaul runners claimed the top three spots. Kim Smith won the race in 7 seconds and 27 hundredths with Kristil Nicholas and Dee Moore following closely behind.
The sprints treated the team well as they won the 200m and 400m meters in addition to the 55m. Vanessa Crockett clocked a 27.02 in the 200m and Diana Runnels crossed the tape in 58.8 in the 400m. Smith grabbed another first in the long jump with a 5.77m leap, while Katie Sullivan added a second in the high jump. She tied for first in the event but lost out due to misses.
Montia Gardner added another win in the field events heaving the shot 13.25m. The Distance Medley Relay clocked a 13:18.24 winning its race. Mary Vonckx, Leah Rygh, Lynsey Psimas and Erin Moffett filled out the relay.
The team's next meet is this Friday in Milwaukee, Wis. when it will compete in the UW-Milwaukee Invitational.
