Frank Guzman was the lone Blue Demon to win an event as the junior won the shot put title with a throw of 54 feet 11 ¾ inches. The mark topped his next closest competitor by just over three feet. It also broke the previous championships record of 54-3 ¾.
Kai Murray ran third in the 800 meters in one minute 58 seconds picking up six points for the team, while Andrae McPherson claimed second in the 55m hurdles. McPherson's 7.68 was his best time of the year.
The 4x200m relay also grabbed second place points for the Blue Demons. The relay crossed the tape in 1:32.27.
The meet was the final tune up for the Blue Demons before they head to the Conference USA Championships in Houston this weekend.
