Carey Ryan Wins Hammer Throw At Florida Relays

The DePaul outdoor track and field teams wrapped up their Spring Break trip by competing at the Florida Relays last weekend. The Blue Demons participated in the one of country's premier track and field events in Gainesville, Fla. with senior Carey Ryan winning the invitational hammer throw.
In winning the hammer throw with a distance of 68.72 meters, Ryan automatically qualified for the NCAA Track and Field Championships. They will take place May 30-June 1 in Eugene, Ore. The distance is also the longest by a Conference USA athlete this season.
Other top finishers for DePaul included Megan Greeley and Katie Sullivan. Greeley placed seventh in the women's javelin throw with a mark of 34.52 meters while Sullivan tied for fifth with a high jump of 1.55 meters.

Up next for DePaul is the Big Blue Classic in Charleston, Ill. The meet will take place on Saturday, April 7.
