Cross Country Teams Travel to Penn State

CHICAGO - The DePaul men’s and women’s cross country teams look forward to competing in the 36th Penn State National Invitational this Saturday, October 16, at Penn State University. The women will take on a 6k course with a race start at 10:00 a.m. (EST), while the men hit the 5.2 mile course at 11:00 a.m. (EST). The Blue Demons will compete against 36 men’s and women’s teams, including some of the best in the country.
The Blue Demons last competed in the Sean Earl Loyola Lakefront Invitational, where Leah Rygh earned a first place finish and C-USA Athlete of the Week honors. Rygh ran the lakefront course in 17:24 and teammate Erin Moffett placed ninth, finishing in 17:47. Anthony Becknek was the top finisher for DePaul’s men, registering a 25:44 time and taking 50th overall.
This meet will help prepare the Blue Demons for the upcoming C-USA Championship on Saturday, October 30, hosted by DePaul at Palos Hills Forest Preserve. The women will start the 6k course at 10:30 am, followed by the men’s 8k race at 11:30 am.
