Leah Rygh Wins Sean Earl Lakefront Invitational

CHICAGO – Leah Rygh continued her strong season with a first-place finish at the 32nd annual Sean Earl Lakefront Invitational at Montrose Beach on Saturday. She placed first in the women’s 5,000 meters with a time of 17:24.
The Blue Demons placed two in the top 10 as Erin Moffett finished ninth overall. She completed the lakeside course in 17:47. Carrie Moffett was DePaul’s third finisher in 61st place at 18:47. Emily Prettyman, Olivia Conlon, Kelly Cunningham and Colleen Stiles-Shields were next for the Blue Demons. Prettyman finished in 19:48 while Conlon clocked a time of 19:56. Cunningham finished with a time of 21:04 and Stiles-Shields finished in 21:47.
Rygh finished ahead of Marquette’s Heidi Lindeman, who finished with a time of 17:26, and Loyola’s Maureeca Lambert in 17:31.
Marquette won the women’s team title while the Loyola men’s team won for the third straight year. DePaul finished 12th out of the 24 women’s teams competing.
