Men's Cross Country Takes Fifth at Indiana State Invitational

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – The DePaul men’s cross country team opened the season with a fifth-place finish at the Indiana State Invitational on Saturday. Donnie Warner led the team with a 12th-place overall finish in 26:03.05.
Warner took finished 12th and was followed by Anthony Becknek in 14th. Becknek finished the 8,000-meter course in 26:05.98. A trio of Blue Demons finished 55th, 56th and 57th led by Dan Graca in his first collegiate meet. Graca registered a time of 28:46.28 and was followed by Gavin Kennedy in 28:46.59 and Richard Byrne with a time of 28:52.13.
Eastern Michigan took the team title with 23 points with Navy second and host Indiana State third. Purdue took fourth place and DePaul totaled 164 points in fifth. Individually, Eastern Michigan took the top two spots and five of the top nine with Corey Nowitzke clocking a winning time of 24:58.57.
