Moffett Paces Blue Demons at Sean Earl Classic

CHICAGO-  Junior Carrie Moffett paced the Blue Demons with a 25^th place finish at the Sean Earl Classic, Saturday afternoon along the Chicago lakefront.  The women's team finished 26^th while the men placed 27th out of 28 teams.

Moffett's finished the 5K course in a personal best 18:25 and was DePaul's top runner for the third time this season.   Mo Kunta finished in 19:30 and was the second Blue Demon to cross the finish line.  Also finishing for the women were Emily Prettyman, Kelly Cunningham, Lizzie Stewart, Colleen Stiles-Shields and Abbey Walters.

Anthony Becknek paced the men for the second time this season and finished 84^th.  Becknek  finished the 8K course in 26:18.  Kyle Ferry and Robert Morgan finish seconds apart at 28:13 and 28:27, respectively. Clayton Smith, Dan Graca, Brian Godar and Ryan Soloman also completed the course for the Blue Demons.

Southern Indiana's Heath Cooksey won women's race in 17:09 and Eastern Kentucky's Jacob Korir captured the men title in 23:51.

BIG EAST opponent Marquette won the women's crown and cross town rival Loyola won the men's title.  

The Blue Demons will return to action October 19, traveling to Peoria , Illinois to run at the Bradley Cross Country Classic.
