Cross Country Finishes Notre Dame Invitational

NOTRE DAME, Ind.- The DePaul men’s and women’s cross country teams were paced Friday afternoon by senior Sean Conroy and freshman Terah Cheatham at the Notre Dame Invitational. The duo led their respective squads for the second consecutive meet on the Notre Dame Golf Course as the men’s team placed 12th in the 8K Gold Division race and the women’s team finished 18th in the 5K Gold Division trek.
Cheatham delivered a personal-best performance of 18:56 to finish 41st in the women’s standings. She was closely followed by senior Carrie Moffett, who took 46th with a time of 19:01.
Freshman Cassey Lynn also notched a personal-best time with a mark of 19:38 to finish 99th. Senior Kelly Cunningham placed 136th, crossing the line at 20:23, and Nicole Roesner closed out the top five Blue Demon women with a time of 24:48 to finish 188th.
The women’s team combined for a score of 466 in a field of 24 squads that included BIG EAST rival
Conroy finished 6th overall in the men’s standings with a season-best time of 25:03. He has paced the men’s team in all four of their races this season.
Freshman Luke Rygh finished second for the Blue Demons, taking 48th with a time of 25:57. He was closely followed by fellow freshman Jakub Kolacz, who finished 54th at 26:02. Sophomore Jeremy Applebaum crossed the finish line at 26:26 and took 87th, while freshman Glenn Morris finished 115th with a time of 26:47.
The men’s squad posted a combined score of 296 in a field of 25 teams that included BIG EAST rival Notre Dame.
In the men’s individual race, freshmen Scott Cooper and Greg Udzielak delivered a pair collegiate career-best performances, posting times of 26:33 and 26:37, respectively.
