The Blue Demons join a field of competition that includes talent from Bradley, Cleveland State, Indiana, Michigan, Wright State, and WMU. The tournament format features two doubles draws and five singles draws, in addition to a round robin round in both.
DePaul competed two weeks ago at the Wilson/ITA Midwest Regional Championships in Columbus, Ohio. Senior Jose Moncada posted a victory in the main singles draw, while doubles pairs Austin Doerner and Vanja Grgec, and Alasdair Graetz and Moncada also notched a victory.
The Blue Demons hold a 9-8 advantage over this year’s opponents, gathering 4 doubles wins and 5 singles victories in previous tournaments when facing scheduled participants in this year’s Vredevelt Invitational.
This weekend’s tournament marks the final event of DePaul’s fall schedule. After the New Year, the Blue Demons open their dual season against the University of Chicago on January 10 at the Lakeshore Athletic Club in Lincoln Park.
