Men's Tennis Embarks on West Coast Trip

CHICAGO The DePaul men’s tennis team heads to California this week for a trio of road duals. The Blue Demons face Pacific on Thursday at 3 p.m. (CST) before they challenge UC Davis on Friday at 4 p.m. DePaul closes the trip on Saturday with a noon dual at No. 52 Fresno State.
The Blue Demons (11-6, 2-0 BIG EAST) enter Thursday’s matches on a three-dual winning streak. DePaul took both ends of a doubleheader last Saturday with a 5-2 win over Northern Illinois and a 7-0 shutout over Wright State. Friday, March 7 saw the Blue Demons record a 7-0 shutout over Buffalo.
Through 17 spring duals, junior Jose Moncada carries 11 singles victories, while freshman Ben Hartman holds a record of 16-1 in singles play. Junior Austin Doerner and sophomore Alasdair Graetz boast a 5-1 record in the top doubles match, while freshman Adam Williams and Hartman carry a 5-1 slate at No. 3 doubles.
Pacific (6-7) comes off a 4-3 win over Marquette on March 17, while UC Davis (8-6) most recently topped Sonoma State, 4-3, on March 9. Fresno State (9-7) suffered a 4-1 loss to Brown on March 15.
DePaul lost its last meetings with Fresno State and Pacific during the 2006 season. The Blue Demons suffered a 7-0 shutout to the Bulldogs on March 22 before they dropped a 2-5 decision to Pacific on March 24.
