Blue Demons Travel to Western Michigan

CHICAGO - The DePaul men's tennis team closes out the fall tournament portion of its schedule at the Jack Vredevelt Invitational hosted by Western Michigan at the West Hills Athletic Club Oct. 30-Nov. 1.
The Blue Demons are scheduled to compete against student-athletes from Illinois State, UIC and host Western Michigan during the three-day tournament. The invitational features one 16-team doubles draw, one four-player round robin singles draw and three eight-player singles flights.
Action begins on Friday afternoon with doubles play while singles flights will be played on Saturday and Sunday.
The Blue Demons have flourished during the fall season and combined for a 34-28 singles record and a 13-8 record in doubles play in their three fall tournaments. Freshman Mathias Hambach and Matija Palinic both lead the squad with eight singles victories while senior Ben Hartman reached the round of 16 at the ITA Midwest Regional in Ann Arbor, Michigan on Oct. 16.
In doubles play, Bartosz Jozwiak and Hartman have compiled a 6-1 record while Alasdair Graetz and Jon Polanec have gone 5-2.
Following the Jack Vredevelt Invitational, the Blue Demons will break until their duel season begins in January. DePaul welcomes UIC and the University of Chicago to the Lakeshore Athletic Club on Jan. 16 for duel doubleheader.
