Blue Demons Set to Spend a Week Competing in Texas

CHICAGO The DePaul men’s tennis team travels south for a week of competition and training on the courts of Texas-San Antonio. On March 22nd they face Southeastern Louisiana followed by duals against Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, UTSA, and Louisiana Lafayette later in the week.
Last time out, the Blue Demons earned two shutout-victories against Toledo and Lewis. The No. 69 doubles tandem of Ben Hartman and Austin Doerner improved their season-record to 12-2 after defeating Jared Miller and Nutthavit Liktkumchorn.
Jose Moncada earned win number 19 and 20 last weekend, with his pair of singles wins against the Rockets and the Flyers. The senior has surpassed the 20-win milestone for the third straight year, bringing his career-total to 71.
Head coach Matt Brothers, now in his second season at DePaul, has led his team to a 12-5 record so far this season. In his first year, the Blue Demons finished in third place in the BIG EAST Conference after finishing the league tournament with a 2-1 record.
Following the week of competition in Texas, the team has just three duals left in preparation for the BIG EAST tournament, held in Tampa, Fla. on April 16-19.
