Luke Rygh to Represent DePaul at BIG EAST Meetings
9/25/2009 12:00:00 AM | CROSS COUNTRY
The BIG EAST SAAC serves as the voice of student-athletes competing in seventeen sports sponsored by the league. In doing so, the committee's mission is to improve communication with all student-athletes at member institutions as well as between institutions, take an active role understanding and providing feedback regarding NCAA and Conference legislation, and promote student-athlete well-being, academic achievement, personal development and community service.
In addition to discussing the issues surrounding the student-athlete experience, Rygh and the BIG EAST's finest will be involved in a local community service activity.
Rygh, a senior out of Montgomery, Ill., is the current captain of the men's cross country team and is an active member of the Captain's Council. During his 2009 campaign, he has placed within the Blue Demon top-five twice, and lowered his personal-best four-mile time to 21:11 at the DePaul Opener.
