Cross Country Goes Back to New York

CHICAGO- On Saturday, the DePaul men's and women's cross country teams return to Jamesville Beach Park in Jamesville, N.Y. for the 2010 BIG EAST Cross Country Championships. The women will run a 6K race that begins at 9:30 a.m., and the Men's 8K race will follow at 10:15 a.m.
The Blue Demons raced at Jamesville Beach Park earlier this season at the Sept. 11 BIG EAST preview. The men's team finished in second place and was led by Matthew Graham who took first while, the women's team was led by Toni Salvatore who finished in third; the women's team finished the meet in fourth.
DePaul last competed at the Bradley Classic on Oct. 15. The men's team finished in 10th and was led by Graham who set a course record with a career-best time of 23:37. The women's team finished in second and was led by Salvatore who finished in eighth, while Mary Cate Quiett, Claire O'Brien, Kelly Pickering and Stephanie Hughes all finished in the top 50.
Last Season, at the BIG EAST Cross Country Championships, the Blue Demons placed 11th on the women's side, while the men finished in ninth. Quiett and Salvatore were the top two finishers for the Blue Demons at last year's, Quiett finished in 53 and Salvatore finished in 63. Graham finished in 14th and became the first All-BIG EAST honoree in DePaul cross country history.
The top 15 individual finishers in each of Saturday's races earn All-BIG EAST honors.
The DePaul men's and women's cross country teams continues post-season action at the NCAA Midwest Regional Championship on Nov. 13 in Peoria, Ill.
