Blue Demons Compete at the Regional Championships

PEORIA, Ill. - The DePaul men's and women's cross country teams competed in the NCAA Midwest Regional Championships on Saturday. The DePaul women's team finished 21st out of 27 teams and the men's team finished 20th out of 24 teams.
In the men's 10K race, Matthew Graham was named to the NCAA Midwest Regional Team and paced the men's team with a personal-best time of 30:30.7. Max Clink was the second DePaul runner to cross the finish line. Brian Begalke finished in a time of 33:23.04, Chris Miedema finished in a time of 33:39.24, Ian Sanchez finished with a time of 33:59.86 and Max Rodrigues finished with a time of 35:14.88.
The men's team combined for a score of 553 and placed 20th.
In the women's 6K race, Toni Salvatore ran a personal-best time of 21:22.00 and was the first DePaul runner to cross the finish line. Next to cross the finish line was Claire O'Brien in a time of 22:09.91. Stephanie Hughes finished in a time of 22:32.02, Kelly Pickering finished in a time of 23:03.38, Erin Lakie finished with a time of 24:15.24, Hannah Pulliam finished with a time of 24:23.11 and Courtney Avvampato finished with a time of 24:31.95.
The women's team combined for a score of 559 and placed 21st.
