Cross Country Squads Earn All-Academic Accolades from USTFCCCA

The women improved upon last season's already impressive GPA of 3.64 with a cumulative average of 3.76 to boast the third highest GPA in the nation. While the Blue Demons are tied with Oral Roberts, the University of Alabama-Tuscaloosa touts the highest GPA of 3.86 followed by Missouri State's 3.81.
League foe Villanova was named the USTFCCCA Women's Cross Country Scholar Team of the Year after winning its eighth NCAA title in November, while earning a 3.38 GPA in the classroom.
The BIG EAST led all conferences with 13 women's squads mentioned as All-Academic recipients. The SEC and Big Ten each scored 10 teams on the honor roll.
The DePaul men's cross country team are in a three way tie for fourth with a GPA of 3.56, along with Charleston Southern and Dayton. While Creighton and Vanderbilt lead the way with an academic rank of 3.67, Oklahoma took team of the year honors after winning the NCAA title last fall.
The ACC and SEC topped all conferences with eight intuitions earning the men's academic plaudit. The Blue Demons were one of six BIG EAST institutions awarded.
For a team to be considered for the USTFCCCA All-Academic Team award, they must have competed and compiled a team score at an NCAA Regional Championship and also have a minimum 3.00 team cumulative GPA.
