CHICAGO - With the women's soccer team reporting for practice this week, renovations continue at DePaul's outdoor facility on the Lincoln Park campus. Wish Field at Cacciatore Stadium - the home to DePaul soccer and softball - is in the midst of the final phase of the renovation of the outdoor athletics facility.
Once the project is fully completed by mid-September, the facility will feature seating for nearly 1,200 fans, a new softball press box and concessions stand that will provide an attractive, fan friendly environment. Prior to the completion date, temporary seating will be available for fans attending soccer matches at Wish Field.
The new press box will be able to support television and radio broadcasts and provide room for 12 people with phone lines and data connections. These updated facilities allow DePaul to host future BIG EAST Conference Championship events and NCAA Championship events for both softball and soccer.
Along with the new stadium seating, press box and concessions stand, the Letterwinners Plaza and Champions Courtyard west of Cacciatore Stadium will celebrate the legacy of DePaul athletics. The plaza will features bricks with the names of letterwinners and donors and be a monument to the success of Blue Demon athletics and the donors, friends and family that have sacrificed to make Blue Demon successes a reality.
