Our new weekly feature "Behind the Bricks" allows DePaul letterwinners a chance to tell the DePaul community a little bit about themselves, a brief reflection on their time as a Blue Demon student-athlete and where they have gone since stepping off the court, field or diamond.
This feature was renamed "Behind the Bricks" to coincide with the dedication of the John and Dale Melbourne Herklotz Letterwinners Plaza and Champions Courtyard. With the plaza filled with 3,800 bricks representing DePaul's student-athletes since 1926, each brick has a story. "Behind the Bricks" will allow letterwinners to tell their "DePaul Story".

1. What does being a DePaul Letter winner mean to you?
It's a badge of honor because not only did I play but I graduated and that my friend is priceless.
2. Why did you choose DePaul?
I chose DePaul because of location I fell in love with Chicago and city loved DePaul University.
3. What was your favorite memory while at DePaul?
Stepping on the floor for practice in Ohio for the NCAA sweet 16 the atmosphere was incredible.
4. What did receiving a scholarship from DePaul mean to you?
A chance to chase two dreams playing basketball and graduating from a top notch college who at the time had over 70% of its Alumni in IL.
5. What was your funniest memory at DePaul?
Freshman year walking down town with Curtis Jackson and James Hamby when we realized Curtis wasn't walking with us anymore we turned around and Curtis said in amazement head pointed straight up in the air with his strong Boston accent "My God Man, Look at that Freaking Building!" His accent and the look of total amazement with the Sears tower caught us off guard and we couldn't stop laughing not that night not for four years, Sorry Curtis.
6. Brief Summary of your life from graduation till now:
Well I played oversea Pro for about a year got bored and chased my 2nd Dream and became a Soldier. Married to my best friend Cheryl for 16yrs and have two 2 girl with grand kids.
7. What advice would you give to a current or future student-athlete?
You started this journey because you had a dream a passion that you could play as well as him or her or even better, so you've arrived, now is the time to push even harder for success on & off the court.
