
UNC Wilmington Tops DePaul

WILMINGTON, N.C. - The No. 75 DePaul men's tennis team suffered a 6-1 loss at No. 33 UNC-Wilmington on Friday at the UNCW Tennis Complex. The dual was the team's final match of its Spring Break trip to North Carolina.
Playing its second match in three days and its ninth ranked team of the season, the Blue Demons were unable to push past Seahawks.
Blue Demon junior Sven Kasper registered the team's only win of the afternoon. Kasper topped Pedro Mol in straight sets - 6-4, 6-4 on the third court. The win was his 12th singles victory of the season.
UNC Wilmington started the match with a pair of wins in doubles - claiming victories on the first and third courts. When the point was clinched, DePaul's doubles tandem Mathias Hambach and Kasper were up 4-3 over Michael Reilly and Sam Williams on the second court.
Heading into singles, Wilmington clinched the dual with singles victories on the fifth, second and fourth courts.
DePaul returns to the courts at the Middle Tennessee Sun Belt Shootout in Murfreesboro, Tenn., Mar. 31 - April 1.
