Today In Blue Demon History
On August 31st, 2007 the men's soccer team defeated Jacksonville in the first regular game of the season. Alex Mangan assisted the first goal and scored the second to lead the Blue Demons to a 2-0 win over Jacksonville. Eric Hermosillo put DePaul on the board first while Steffan Vroom notched two assists. DePaul controlled the entire match as they outshot the Dolphins, 15-5. In 2007 the team made it to the BIG EAST semifinals and qualified for the NCAA tournament.
BIDS Auction Item of the Day
This jersey was produced to be game worn in the 2007-08 season. It is a special edition black jersey that was only used during this season. The jersey is black with blue/white piping, size 54 and number 33. It appears that the jersey was not worn by a scholarship player in 2007-2008. to bid!
Upcoming Events:
Men's and women's cross country compete at the Elmhurst Earlybird invitational on Friday. The start time of the women's 4K race has been reset to 6 p.m., an hour later than originally scheduled because of a weather forecast calling for excessive heat. The men's 6K race will commence at 6:45 p.m. Eldridge Park is located at 363 W. Commonwealth Lane, just north of East Butterfield Rd. (Rt. 56) in Elmhurst.
The mens soccer team faces Western Michigan at 1pm on Saturday at WIsh Field.
The womens soccer team hits the road this weekend when they head to Dayton, Ohio, to take on Wright State on Friday and the University of Dayton on Sunday.
The womens volleyball team DePaul heads to Tennessee to play in the UT Martin Invitational and will play Wright State, Troy and UT Martin during the two-day tournament, Aug. 31-Sept. 1.
DePaul men's soccer alumni day is September 29th, 9:30 am alumni game, followed by post game reception in the Hall of Fame Foyer then 1pm kickoff against St. Johns.
DePaul women's soccer alumnae day will take place September 16th with an alumnae competition at 9:30 am, followed by a reception in the Hall of Fame foyer and a 1pm kickoff against Louisville.
