DePaul Adds Marty Murphy and John Wagle to Athletics Staff

CHICAGO - With the start of Autumn Quarter next week, the DePaul athletics department added two staff members during the summer. Marty Murphy was named assistant director of ticket sales and operations and John Wagle was named assistant director of sports performance.
Murphy returns to the ticket office and has been affiliated with DePaul athletics over the last 11 years in various roles. The Tinley Park native started as a student worker in the facilities department before a two-year internship with the marketing department.
The 2006 graduate was assistant director of ticket sales and operations from August 2007-April 2012 before working for American Transport Group and State Street Properties. Murphy also worked with DePaul’s game day staff during the 2012-13 season and prior to his first time as assistant director he also worked with the Chicago Bulls and Windy City ThunderBolts.
Wagle joins the sports performance staff in a full-time role as assistant director after working under Mac Calloway as in intern from August-December 2012. He also was an assistant strength and conditioning coach in a volunteer role at Western Illinois from January-July 2013 along with stints as a strength and conditioning coach and baseball coach at Dominican University and North Park University.
The 2009 graduate of Augustana College was a NCAA Division III All-American as a third baseman at Augustana. Wagle also holds graduate degrees from Loyola University Chicago, North Park University and is finishing up a graduate degree at Western Illinois University.
