Cross Country Opens Season at NIU Huskie Open

CHICAGO -- The DePaul women's cross country team will kick off its season tomorrow evening at the NIU Huskie Open in DeKalb, Ill.

Race time is scheduled for 8 p.m.

Only the women will compete tomorrow; the men's race was a late scratch.

Ten Blue Demons will compete in the meet tomorrow night in DeKalb, including nine returners and newcomer Ellen Carman. Seniors Taylor Hynes and Jackie Kasal will also be in action; Hynes or Kasal finished in the top two of all six meets last season for DePaul.

Also participating for the Blue Demons tomorrow are Paige Skorseth, Molly Shiroishi, Jessica Sanborn, Elizabeth Wasserman, Lauren Sharp, Courtney Tedeschi and Danielle Hernando.

Beginning with the Huskie Open, the Blue Demons will compete in races in each of the next four weekends. Next weekend (Sept. 5), the DePaul men and women will race in the Badger Opener in Madison, Wis.
