Busy Alumni Weekend to Include Basketball Fan Fest

CHICAGO - A busy Alumni Weekend at DePaul University will feature the opportunity for alums and fans of the Blue Demons to get an early look at the 2015-16 men's and women's basketball teams. Both teams will host a fan fest on Saturday, Oct. 17 starting at 12:30 p.m. at McGrath-Phillips Arena.
Alumni and fans that register for the fan fest online will be placed in a drawing for a night out in Lincoln Park for the basketball home openers. Each package includes four game tickets for the women's home opener on Friday, Nov. 13 or the men's opener on Saturday, Nov. 14 along with a $100 gift certificate for a dining experience at one of Lincoln Park's many restaurant choices. The winners will be announced at the start of each team's scrimmage.
Students that register in advance for the event at Campus Connect will be eligible to win Blue Demon Prize packs filled with DePaul gear.
In addition to the basketball fan fest on Saturday afternoon, DePaul's soccer and volleyball teams will also be in action during the weekend with home events in Lincoln Park. The volleyball team hosts St. John's on Friday and Providence on Saturday at McGrath-Phillips Arena while the men's soccer team faces Georgetown on Saturday followed by the women's soccer team hosting St. John's on Sunday.
Events for DePaul athletics alumni are also scheduled throughout the weekend starting Saturday morning with a D-Club Breakfast at Cortelyou Commons at 9:30 a.m. Other events include men's soccer and volleyball alumni receptions on Saturday and a women's soccer alumni game and reception on Sunday. The track and field alumni will also get together for an event on Sunday. For more information on the alumni events, contact the development office at (773) 325-7240. Alumni weekend passes are available for $35 or $100 for family pass. The family pass benefits alumni and immediate family while all sport-specific alumni events are complimentary to sport-specific alumni.
Doug Bruno and the women's basketball team starts the afternoon with their open practice before the men's team hits the court at approximately 1:45 p.m. Prior to the men's team starting their session, the Blue Demons will be signing autographs and taking pictures with fans from 1-1:30 p.m.
Pizza and soft drinks will be available to everyone in attendance while they watch the open workouts and get autographs from their favorite Blue Demons.
Additionally, season ticket holders can also pick up their season ticket booklets for the 2015-16 season and the ticket office staff will be available for current season ticket holders and fans looking to become a season ticket holder. Fans looking to purchase single-game tickets can do so at the fan fest in an exclusive in-person presale at McGrath-Phillips Arena. Fans in attendance get the opportunity to purchase seats ahead of the Oct. 22 on-sale date for the 2015-16 season. This includes all men's home basketball games and all women's home basketball games including the Dec. 2 visit to McGrath-Phillips Arena by defending NCAA Champion Connecticut.
