Cross Country Closes Season at NCAA Midwest Regionals

IOWA CITY, Iowa - The DePaul men's and women's cross country teams completed the 2016 season at the NCAA Midwest Regionals on Friday afternoon. Courtney Tedeschi and Jeremy Lozano recorded top team finishes for their respective teams on the Ashton Cross Country Course.
The women's squad finished 29th as a team with a point total of 767. DePaul defeated Missouri State, North Dakota, Drake and Oral Roberts in the team standings. Tedeschi finished with a time of 21:50.0 to take 93rd out of 235 competitors. Batya Beard followed behind with a time of 22:20.19 for 134th place. Paige Skorseth crossed the finish around 30 seconds later to take 174th with a time of 22:51.0.
Lauren Sharp (22:55.5) and Courtney Pickering (23:39.4) solidified the women's top-five. Sharp earned 179th, while Pickering came in at 211th.
Jessica Harris took 218th with a time of 23:57.3.
The men placed 23rd in the 10k regional race, defeating BIG EAST foe Creighton. DePaul finished with a team score of 662.
Lozano tallied a 105th place finish with a time of 32:21.3 to lead the men's squad. Salomon Wright followed with a time of 32:48.5 to take 136th. Jake Pecorin clocked in at 32:57.8 for 144th place with Alex Campanella coming around seven seconds later for 147th place at 33:04.6.
James Ryan and Noah Deck rounded out the rest of the Blue Demon men. Ryan concluded the 10k with a time of 33:44.5 for 171st place, while Deck recorded a 34:13.4 finish for 178th.
