No. 21/21 DePaul Runs Past St. Francis in Final Exhibition Tune Up

CHICAGO - Hot shooting propelled No. 21/21 DePaul to a 126-56, exhibition win over St. Francis on Friday at McGrath-Phillips Arena.
The Blue Demons combined to shoot 63 percent and freshman Kelly Campbell led seven players in double figures with 19 points. Jessica January and Amarah Coleman both scored 17 points while Brooke Schulte (16), Chante Stonewall (15), Jacqui Grant (13) and Deja Cage (11) all reached double digits for the Blue Demons.
Distributing the ball like a well-choreographed dance, the Blue Demons had 42 assists on 51 baskets. Every available Blue Demon recorded an assist while Campbell led the pack with nine dimes. January added seven and Lauren Prochaska had six assists.
In the first six-plus minutes of the game, St. Francis stayed close and did not allow the Blue Demons to lead by more than four points. Up, 10-8 with 4:38 to play in the first quarter, the Blue Demons went on a decisive 25-4 run and led 35-12 with 9:17 to play in the second.
DePaul led 59-29 at the half and did not allow its lead to fall below 30 points the rest of the way.
St. Francis was led by Charnelle Reed and Jordan Giddings led the Fighting Saints with 17 points each.
The Blue Demons, who went 2-0 in their exhibition games, open the season by hosting the Maggie Dixon Classic, Nov. 11-12. DePaul plays Appalachian State at 8 p.m. on Friday.

- DePaul scored 51 points off 35 St. Francis turnovers
- No Blue Demon starter played more than 20 minutes. Kelly Campbell led the team with 25 minutes
- Jacqui Grant led DePaul with seven rebounds
- Chante Stonewall and Campbell were each 7-for-9 from the field
- DePaul had 18 3-pointers - Deja Cage was 3-for-3 from behind the arc while Campbell was 4-of-6.
- St. Francis was coached by former Blue Demon All-American Sam Quigley. Quigley is in her fifth year at the helm of the Fighting Saints program
