No. 57 Women's Tennis Returns to Action in Texas

CHICAGO - After a two-week break, the No. 57 DePaul women's tennis team returns to competition in Lubbock, Texas to take on No. 13 Texas Tech Wednesday, Mar. 23 at 5 p.m. Central time.
DePaul (7-6) currently owns a three-match win streak after besting UW-Milwaukee, Illinois State and Iowa.
The Blue Demons competition against Texas Tech is their first match up against a ranked opponent since Feb. 27.
Senior Rebeca Mitrea and junior Yuliya Shupenia continue to lead DePaul with a seven-match win streak in their respective singles spots. Shupenia holds an 8-1 record at No. 1 singles while Mitrea is 2-2 at No. 3 and 6-2 at No. 4.
Together, Shupenia and Mitrea are listed as the No. 39 ranked pair in the country. Shupenia and Mitrea boast a 7-1 record at the No. 1 spot and are on a four-match win streak in the dual season.
Texas Tech (13-2) faces DePaul after snapping a nine-match win streak to No. 67 TCU on Saturday. TCU swept Texas Tech 4-0.
On the Raiders squad, Gabriela Talaba is ranked as the No. 122 player in the country. Lynn Kiro and Alex Valenstein are listed as the No. 41 pair in the country. Talaba holds a 6-4 record for the dual season and is 2-3 in playing fellow ranked opponents. Lynn Kiro and Alex Valenstein have yet to win a match this season.
