DePaul Sees Success at BIG EAST Cross Country Championships

The DePaul men's and women's cross country teams wrapped up their BIG EAST competition on Saturday afternoon

SOMERS, WI - The DePaul men's and women's cross country teams wrapped up their BIG EAST competition on Saturday afternoon. Both squads competed in the BIG EAST Cross Country Championships in Somers, Wis at the Wayne Dennehl National Cross Country Course.Â
The men placed sixth while the women placed ninth at one of the most competitive cross country championships in the NCAA. The Blue Demons' top finisher on the women's side was Miranda Rea, placing 46th with a time of (22:49.1). The men were led by senior Chris Korabik in 15th place, clocking in at (25:15.6).Â
On the men's side, Georgetown took home their third straight cross country title. Their head coach, Brandon Bonsey, was named BIG EAST Men's Coaching Staff of the Year. Villanova swept the women's race, ending a two-year championship run for Providence. Villanova head coach, Gina Procaccio, was named BIG EAST Women's Coaching Staff of the Year.Â
