Kim Smith Named Associate AD for NCAA Compliance

CHICAGO – DePaul athletics director Jean Lenti Ponsetto announced today that Kim Smith has joined the department as the Associate Athletics Director for NCAA Compliance. Smith joins DePaul after working the last seven years at Valparaiso as the Associate Director of Athletics for Compliance and Senior Woman Administrator.
"DePaul Athletics is pleased to welcome Kim Smith to our Athletics leadership team as Associate Athletic Director for Compliance," said athletics director Jean Lenti Ponsetto. "Kim is highly regarded as an expert in NCAA Rules Compliance, well known for her integrity and best compliance practices. We look forward to working with Kim as she shares her expertise and many years of experience with our DePaul Community."
In addition to her compliance and SWA duties at Valparaiso, Smith also supervised seven sports and student-athlete academic services. She worked directly with the NCAA and Missouri Valley Conference on eligibility, NCAA reporting, financial aid and rules education. Smith served on the University's Committee on Intercollegiate Athletics, and was a member of the senior staff that made the University's transition from the Horizon League to the Missouri Valley Conference in 2017.
A 2001 graduate of Valparaiso, she has also worked at Old Dominion and Evansville. She spent three years as Assistant Director of Compliance at Old Dominion after working as Assistant to the Director of Compliance and two seasons as assistant men's and women's swimming coach at Evansville. Smith also earned her Master's Degree from Evansville in public service administration in 2007.
