Sophomore Conor Fagan had a standout performance in highly-competitive field

PEORIA, ILL. – A strong finish by senior Caroline Kurdej and sophomore Conor Fagan led the DePaul men's and women's cross county teams at the 2018 NCAA Midwest Regional on Friday. The Newman Golf Course hosted over 60 teams with Iowa State taking the championship title in both the men's and women's races. The Blue Demon men's squad placed 29^th while the women finished 31^st.

The top finisher on the women's squad was Caroline Kurdej, clocking in a time of 22:31.3 in the 6k race for a 136^th place finish. Courtney Pickering finished close behind to earn the spot as the second Blue Demon finisher with a time of 22:58.3 to place 167^th. Rounding out the scorers for the women were Maret Elgren, Kate Jacobs and Margaret Hastings.

Sophomore Conor Fagan had a standout performance on the men's side to lead to a first place finish among the Blue Demon squad with a time of 34:22.7 in the 10k race to earn 164^th place. Finishing close behind was senior Noah Deck with a time of 34:39.8 to finish in 173^rd place. Charlie McIntyre, Shane Knanishu and Ryan Taylor rounded out the point totals for the men.
