NORMAL, Ill. - These Blue Demons went undefeated in central Illinois over the weekend and have really built some early momentum.
Their latest success story came on Sunday after a 4-3 decision over Creighton at the Bloomington Tennis Center.
That gave DePaul its eighth win in the last 10 matches and improved the team's record in the dual season to 10-3.
It followed up a 4-3 victory over host Illinois State less than 24 hours earlier.
Coach Matt Brothers' band opened Saturday's match losing the doubles point. Alex Galoustian tied it up with his victory at No. 1 singles, but Creighton moved ahead after No. 2 singles.
That's when DePaul shifted into a higher gear as Tamas Zador, Fran Tonejc and Christopher Casati won consecutive matches to clinch the match with Casati's the fourth point.
Brothers and his team are back in action Friday and Saturday at the HEB Invitational in Corpus Christi, Texas.
