DePaul Athletics Recognized at NACDA Convention

Marketing and communications departments honored along with athletics director Jean Lenti Ponsetto
CHICAGO – The DePaul athletics department was recently recognized at the annual NACDA Convention that featured collegiate administrators from across the country at the Gaylord National Resort and Convention Center near Washington, D.C.
Athletics director Jean Lenti Ponsetto was honored with the NACDA I-AAA Builders Award. The Builders Award is annually presented to an individual who, for a minimum of five years as an active I-AAA Director of Athletics has contributed to the enhancement of the Association in such a manner as to bring honor to themselves, their institution(s), and the profession as a whole. Ponsetto was recognized at the DI-AAA ADA Membership and Awards Meeting and at the Learfield Director's Cup Luncheon during the convention.
DePaul's marketing staff was recognized with three "Best Of" awards from the National Association of Collegiate Marketing Administrators (NACMA). Started in 2003, the NACMA Best Of Awards program honors outstanding achievement in marketing and promotions. Awards are presented in 14 categories, with each category divided into three groups based upon school size and conference affiliations to promote fairness. In 2017-18 nearly 1,000 entries were submitted. The winners were formally recognized during the NACMA closing ceremonies and awards presentation on at NACDA convention.
DePaul earned two Golds and a Bronze in the NAMCA Best Of awards. The staff was awarded Gold honors for Fan Engagement Video and Static Promotion Ad while earning a Bronze award in the category of Season Ticket Sales Campaign.
The communications staff also received recognition at the convention from the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) with three Fred Stabley, Sr. Writing Awards. The Stabley Awards are in seven categories with eight districts selecting honorees followed by a group of national awards. DePaul was honored with two district first-place awards in the categories of Story with Video and Season Preview/Recap along with a second-place honor in the Athlete Profile category.
