DePaul Welcomes Athletics Hall of Fame Class of 2019

Nine inductees include Andre Brown, Lance Williams and 1986 women's cross country team
CHICAGO – Once again, the university community will celebrate its storied and remarkable sports tradition with the Feb. 2 induction ceremony welcoming the class of 2019 into the DePaul Athletics Hall of Fame.
The inductees being honored include Andre Brown and Lance Williams from men's basketball, Tawona (Alhaleem) Hicks and Kris (Booker) Rastrelli of women's basketball, softball standout Liz (Bouck) Jagielski, decorated track and field athlete Carey Ryan, men's tennis pioneer Melvin Searles, the Dr. Robert Hamilton Special Service Award winner Kevin McCann and the 1986 women's cross country team---the first to win a conference title in DePaul history.
The cross country team that included Erin Ahern, Shawn Kavanaugh, Anne and Gloria Kuiken, Beata Kielar, Audrey Lichtenfeld, Patti O'Connell, Lori Pascoe, Colleen Thomas, Kim Wilkeson and Rhonda Yoder won the North Star Conference Championship.
The festivities get underway on Saturday, Feb. 2 when the eight individuals and the 11 members of the cross country team along with coach John Caldow are introduced at halftime to the Wintrust Arena crowd cheering on the men's basketball team at its 1:30 p.m. game against Providence.
The Hall of Fame induction ceremony begins with a 6 p.m. social hour followed by a buffet dinner. The program will begin at 7:30 p.m. at McGrath-Phillips Arena.
Sunday opens with the Hall of Fame Memorial Service celebrating the lives of former Blue Demons who have passed away since 2017. That will be held at the Saint Louise de Marillac Chapel.
There is a pre-game reception at noon to get fired up for the DePaul-Marquette women's rivalry game in room 220 of the Student Center. DePaul athletics director Jean Lenti Ponsetto and women's basketball coach Doug Bruno will address the gathering.
At halftime of the 1 p.m. showdown, the Hall of Fame inductees will be introduced to the partisan McGrath-Phillips Arena crowd.
Tickets for the Hall of Fame banquet and induction ceremony are $50. Tables of 10 are available at $500. Parking is available for $7.25 at the Sheffield and Clifton parking garages.
