Wheaton Warrenville South standout Sirinit will strengthen men's tennis program
CHICAGO – The Blue Demons have added a talented recruit to their men's tennis program with the signing of Wheaton Warrenville South standout Phasu Sirinit.
In addition to emerging among the elite high school tennis players in the state, Sirinit already has a DePaul connection. The Tiger senior plays for coach Patti Clousing, mother of former All-BIG EAST First Team tennis star Keisha Clousing who graduated last June.
Sirinit was a second-team IHSA All-State selection as a junior after compiling an 18-2 singles record and qualifying for the state tournament.
That followed up an impressive 20-7 sophomore campaign and a 19-8 record as a freshman. Sirinit heads into is final high school season with a composite record of 57-17.
"We couldn't be more excited to welcome Phasu to our Blue Demon tennis family," said DePaul coach Matt Brothers. "His unprecedented energy, positivity and passion---not only for tennis but for all things in his life---are contagious to all who know or meet him. These qualities will serve him well both on the court and in the classroom at DePaul.
"We look forward to him joining us next fall and supporting him during this next exciting chapter in his life as he continues his development as a player, a student and a person."
Among the top-five players in the state, Sirinit was both an all-conference performer and an academic all-conference honoree. Last season he was first at sectionals and also won titles at the Glenbard West Invite and the Naperville North Invite.
In the summer season, Sirinit finished sixth at the JTT National Championships and led his team to second place at the USTA District Team Cup Tournament and to third and fourth-place finishes at the USTA Zone Team Championships.
